Task Description: This week in Literacy we explored the history and importance of ANZAC Day. We learned about what ANZAC stands for, Australia, New Zealand Army Corps, what happens in Gallipoli, and the Sacrifices our brave soldiers made in 1915 at ANZAC Cove. for my work I had to write 5  Facts about ANZAC Day.

What happened in…

The beginning? The middle? The end?
  In the beginning kane took a long way home and he stopped at I think a river kindave and he put a life jacket on a he went on a boat to get I think fish or bait. In the middle Kane he yelled SHARK! Like he was in a movie and when he saw the shark he was trying to get the people in the water to pay attention so that they can get out of the water and be aware. In the end he came home and put his bag down and he saw his dad sitting in the chair still in his work socks and work shorts. The dad  looked disappointed and Kane gave his report card and he was disappointed.

The main character is Kane.

One thing about Kane is that he worries about other people than himself.

The kind of challenge they play his actually really hard because you have to learn it then do it.
  1. What was the most exciting/interesting part?
The most interesting thing to met In the book is probably The last part because It was short and nice.
  1. Have you done anything like this before?
No becauseFor the report card I have to do a teacher meeting and I have to come and they talk about my learning and what I do at school and when I’m there I get my report card there and for the first part of the story I walk with my mom or I go in the car with my dad

They camp at  in the mountains in new zealand

 

2.  How did Moa get their name? 

She got her name by the animal called moa

 

3.  Have Pai and her whanau always lived on this land? Which part of the story tells you this?

 

Yes and and the is on page 2 is pai has dreamt all ten years in the new land.

 

4.  On page 4 the author uses the phrase “that remains to be dreamt”. Using clues from the text, tell me what you think this means.

 

I think this means that she is imagining a picture on the cave wall.

 

5.  How does Pai feel about the egg hunt, and why?  Which part of the story tells you this?

 

She feels unhappy because she knows the Moa is a gift the part is on the start of page 4

 

6.  Why do you think the Moa is  “especially alert” when Pai finds it in the forest? 

 

Because it is really big and it can take over a person.
